Every child deserves to dance!
Why? Dance builds confidence, creativity, problem-solving and higher-order thinking skills. It aids in neural development and builds kinesthetic intelligence, and creates opportunities for self-expression and teaches alternative forms of communication. Dance teaches an understanding and respect for other cultures as well as our own. And dance education helps students develop physical fitness and healthy lifestyle practices, an appreciation of their bodies, sound stress management approaches to cope with the tensions in their lives.
In addition to the many wonderful organizations that provide dance education to our children in the schools and in after school programs, etc., you can also give your child the gift of dance by enrolling them in a private dance school.
The following studios offer classes for children. We don't provide a day-by-day class listing since most of these classes are session-based and each lesson builds on the prior one (so drop-ins are sometimes discouraged).
Please click on the links (where available) below to learn more about each studio, the types of dance it offers and for details on curriculum and instructors. We are also happy to help you find studios in your area - just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
