Meet the SB Dance Sugar crew.
We love dance. And we recruit.
Lisa is a recovering attorney who woke up one morning in February 2015 and decided that everyone in Santa Barbara needed to dance. In her former life, Lisa specialized in labor and employment mediation, corporate law and regulatory compliance. Her background also includes teaching at an international business college in France, screenwriting, and running a music festival in Georgia. If Lisa isn't dancing, she's either advocating for dance, trying to talk someone into dancing or over-caffeinating.
Sharyn Chan is a dancer, dance teacher, internationally renowned chalk artist, championship-winning motorcycle racer, as well as a computer guru and former competitive gymnast. Her dance background includes training in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, contemporary, afro, funk and hip hop. She provides critical tech guidance to SB Dance Sugar and talks Lisa off the cliff at least quarterly. Sometimes weekly.
Tina a psychologist specializing in adolescent mental health offering a unique perspective on dance and music as it relates to adolescent behavior. A dancer since the age of three, Tina has trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop and funk. Along with a passion for music and dance, she has applied her talents towards mythology and storytelling, which she utilizes in consulting with screenwriters on character and plot development.
